COVID-19 UPDATE!

IDHP Response to the Coronavirus Outbreak
Covid-19 Job Site Requirements & Safety Plans
Dayle Gray, our CFO, applied her massive sewing skills and ingenuity to create “stylish” nano filter insert masks for our crew, since they have been unavailable on the open market

We are an ESSENTIAL business and can take urgent service calls while the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” proclamation is in effect. In addition, our office is operating virtually as we continue to maintain our normal business hours:

Monday – Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm

Friday, 9 am to 3 pm

We are committed to keeping our staff and customers healthy and want our customers and community to know we are taking the Coronavirus situation very seriously.  We have implemented a comprehensive Covid-19 exposure control, mitigation, and recovery plan.

The Island Ductless Heat Pumps control measures include PPE utilization; on-site social distancing; hygiene; sanitation, symptom monitoring; Covid-19 safety training; and exposure response procedures as follows:

  • No more than 2 IDHP employees at any jobsite at the same time.

  • Avoid being at jobsites at the same time as other trade/contractors/subcontractors.

  • Social distancing of at least 6 feet outdoors and 10 feet indoors.

  • Frequent hand washing.

  • Hygienic practices required, including not to touch face with unwashed hands or with gloves.

  • Mobile handwashing stations on all IDHP trucks/vans.

  • Hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol provided to all employees for frequent use.

  • Gloves worn on all jobs by every employee.

  • Masks worn on all jobs by every employee.

  • Eye protection worn on all jobs by every employee.

  • We ask all clients to confirm nobody in their home is ill or has been recently exposed to the virus before we come to their home.

  • Employee health/symptoms check at the start, middle and end of every day, including temperature check.

  • Employees are asked to inform us if they have a family member at home with Covid-19.

  • If an employee reports feeling sick and goes home, that work area will be immediately disinfected.

  • If an Employee has symptoms of respiratory illness they must stay at home until symptom free for at least 72 hours.

  • If an employee is confirmed to have Covid-19, everyone with possible exposure to that employee will be informed and provided with instructions how to proceed, while maintaining required confidentiality.

  • We will keep a log of all clients and trade/contractor/subcontractor our employees come in contact with at jobsites during the work day.

  • We provide sick pay for all employees to reinforce our stay home/go home when sick policy.

  • A safety training will be done virtually to review all these procedures before returning to work and weekly thereafter, including any requirement updates.

  • COVID-19 safety requirements will be visibly posted at all IDHP jobsites.

We will comply with all requirements that pertain to our organization as outlined above and in the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA), L&I’s Division of Occupation Safety and Health (DOSH) Covid-19 jobsite safety and health requirements.

These Phase 1 COVID-19 job site safety practices will be followed as required for as long as the “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” Gubernatorial Proclamation 20-25 is in effect and for as long as Covid-19 remains a danger, or if adopted as rules by a federal, state or local regulatory agency.
