Situation

Island Ductless Heat Pumps partnered with Next Generation Design and Build to deliver advanced heating and ventilation solutions for a custom home in Langley, Washington. By installing ductless heat pumps and an Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV) system, the project aimed to maximize energy efficiency and provide superior indoor air quality.

Every new build must meet Washington State’s Energy Code requirements, which mandate a specific number of energy credits for new homes based on their size. To achieve compliance, while maximizing functional benefits for the homeowners, the team prioritized balancing cost, efficiency, and health benefits when selecting ERV systems, ductless heat pumps, and other energy-saving technologies.
