What is a ductless heat pump?

Ductless heat pumps are highly efficient heating and cooling systems using heat pump technology. Splitzoning air-conditioning and heat pump systems are the quiet solution for consistent, eco-friendly cooling and heating. The parts of a ductless heat pump include an outdoor unit (placed outside of the home at ground level), indoor units (mounted on an exterior wall or the ceiling), and a remote control to easily adjust the temperature.

How does it work?

Heat pumps do not create heat. They simply move available heat from one place to another. An outdoor unit absorbs warmth from the surrounding air and transfers it into your home via the refrigerant in copper lines. Ductless heating and cooling systems are reversible, two-way heat pumps that simply take heat energy from one place and move it to another by compressing and expanding refrigerant.
